THE JAGUAR | BIODIVERSITY

For some years now, the monitoring and assessment of the wild jaguar populations (Panthera onca) inside the project has been taking place. The Jaguar Biodiversity Project, implemented by PhD. Mathias Tobler of the San Diego Zoo, placed a set of trap cameras in different parts of the habitat of these felines.

Results of the investigation were surprising: an unusually high number of individuals (one of the highest recorded in the world) which reflect the excellent state of conservation of the forest.
